Since the last Disease Outbreak News was published on 20 September (with data as of 15 September), an additional 4914 cases have been reported including 92 confirmed cases (Figure 1).

Ebola virus disease – Democratic Republic of the Congo

From 6 to 12 May 2020, no new cases of Ebola virus disease (EVD) have been reported from North Kivu Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo (Figure 1). Since the resurgence of the outbreak on 10 April 2020, seven confirmed cases have been reported from Kasanga, Malepe and Kanzulinzuli Health Areas in Beni Health Zone. Of these, one is receiving care at the Beni Ebola treatment centre (ETC), one who was receiving care at the ETC recovered and was discharged, and one remains in the community, 35 days after symptom onset. Efforts to locate this individual are being undertaken to test and provide care for this person. Four of the people confirmed to have Ebola died, including two community deaths and two deaths in the ETC in Beni. So far, no definitive source of infection has been identified. Since then, it remained simple but better, new features include: - Improved accuracy by also using comments to help gauge the topic of discussion and the right keywords. - Published as plugin for more browsers: Chrome, Firefox (including android), and more recently Microsoft Edge. - Support for narrow screens and mobile devices. - Added preference controls. I've been using hacker news for a while but one of the things I started wanting recently was the ability to have alerts for any stories I post. The thing that pushed me over the edge was Hackclub's shipwrecked https://ift.tt/BcD5Efq (hackathon in the boston bay for anyone that can make 4 projects over the summer and get at least one of them to go viral). One of the options for "going viral" was to get to the front page of hacker news but I was constantly scared that I would miss it getting on there lol so I whipped up a quick slackbot to send alerts to a channel. It was dead simple but it did work. Once I had the bot I realized I could do wayyyy more with the data I was collecting so I decided to add some historical data initially thinking I would generate graphs and then embed them in the message but decided to quickly try using Bun.serve to host a quick ...
